This Shipping Policy outlines the terms and conditions regarding the transport and delivery of goods facilitated through BatteryRing (https://synchrodrive.com/). By placing an order or engaging with suppliers on our platform, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

1. Classification of Goods

For shipping purposes, goods on BatteryRing are categorized into two main types:

  • General Cargo: Includes battery raw materials (non-reactive), manufacturing equipment, testing instruments, and hardware.
  • Dangerous Goods (DG): Includes Lithium-ion batteries, Lithium-metal batteries, and certain chemical electrolytes which are classified under UN Class 9 hazardous materials.

2. Compliance with International Regulations

All shipments containing lithium batteries must comply with international safety standards. Users and suppliers are responsible for ensuring compliance with:

  • IATA DGR: International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • IMDG Code: International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code for ocean freight.
  • ADR/RID: Regulations concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road/rail.
  • UN38.3: All lithium batteries must have passed the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria Section 38.3 to ensure transport safety.

3. Packaging and Labeling

  • Dangerous Goods: Must be packed in UN-certified packaging with appropriate Class 9 Hazard labels, Lithium Battery marks, and CAO (Cargo Aircraft Only) labels where applicable.
  • Equipment/Machinery: Large battery manufacturing equipment must be secured in industrial-grade crates to prevent shifting or damage during transit.

4. Shipping Methods and Incoterms

BatteryRing supports various international commercial terms (Incoterms 2020). Unless otherwise specified in the individual sales contract, the default terms are EXW (Ex Works) or FOB (Free on Board).

  • The buyer is responsible for choosing a freight forwarder qualified to handle Class 9 Dangerous Goods if the supplier does not provide DDP/DAP services.
  • Lead Times: Shipping dates provided are estimates. BatteryRing is not liable for delays caused by customs clearance, carrier backlogs, or inspection of hazardous materials.

5. Customs, Duties, and Taxes

The recipient (Buyer) is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country.

  • Orders may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by the destination country.
  • Customs policies vary widely; BatteryRing has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount.

6. Shipping Insurance and Liability

  • Liability Transition: Risk of loss and title for items pass to the buyer upon delivery to the carrier (consistent with the chosen Incoterm).
  • Insurance: We strongly recommend that buyers secure comprehensive maritime or air cargo insurance, especially for high-value battery manufacturing machinery and volatile battery shipments.
  • Damaged Goods: Any damage occurring during transit must be reported to the carrier immediately upon receipt. BatteryRing acts as a platform and is not responsible for physical damage caused by third-party logistics providers.

7. Restricted Destinations

Due to international regulations and carrier restrictions, some battery products may not be shippable to certain remote regions or countries under trade embargoes. We reserve the right to cancel orders that violate international shipping sanctions.

8. Documentation

Suppliers must provide necessary documentation for smooth transit, including:

  • Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • UN38.3 Test Reports
  • Commercial Invoices and Packing Lists
  • Certificate of Origin (if required)
